The TPMT held its 33rd monitoring session in the Philippines from 18 to 30 March 2019. During this period, they visited Cotabato City (from 19 to 23 and 27 to 30 March 2019) in addition to having a number of meetings in Metro Manila.
In Cotabato City, the TPMT met with the MILF Peace Implementing Panel led by Chair Mohagher Iqbal. They also met with key officials of the BTA on separate occasions, particularly Interim Chief Minister Al Haj Murad Ebrahim, Executive Secretary Mike Pasigan, Minister Ed Guerra, Minister Naguib Sinarimbo and Atty Oma Sema. For the GPH-MILF mechanisms, they met with IDB Vice-Chair William Hovland along with Gen Ardo and four IDB members, as well as IMT-M14 Head of Mission Maj. Gen. Dato’ Ya’cob bin Hj Samiran and his team. They also had a consultation with the Christian community, particularly the Christians for Peace Movement. On 29 March 2019, the TPMT attended the Inaugural Session of the BTA, and the inauguration of the BARMM led by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
In Manila, they met with GPH Peace Implementing Panel Chair Emeritus Nabil Tan and Asec. Ma. Cecilia Papa. They also met with EU Delegation Ambassador Franz Jessen.
