The Third Party Monitoring Team (TPMT) held its 36th monitoring session in the Philippines from 19 to 28 November 2019.
In Cotabato City, the TPMT met with the MILF Peace Implementing Panel led by Chair Mohagher Iqbal. We also met with key officials of the BTA, particularly Interim Chief Minister Al Haj Ahod Balawag Ebrahim, Wali Sheik Usman Nando, Minister of Interior and Local Government Naguib Sinarimbo, and Majority Floor Leader Lanang Ali Jr. For the GPH-MILF mechanisms, we met with the IDB, MILF TFDCC Co-Chair Abdullah Pacasem, and the IMT on separate occasions. We also attended the ceremonial turnover of the 63 barangays of North Cotabato to the BARMM and visited the 6th Infantry Division Headquarters. We held a consultation with a small group of decommissioned BIAF in Camp Darapanan, and we also held a consultation with indigenous peoples leaders in South Upi, Maguindanao.
In Manila, we met with the GPH Peace Implementing Panel led by Chair Asec. David Diciano, and met with NAPOLCOM Commissioner Zenonida Brosas.
In Davao City, we met with MNLF Chair Nur Misuari.
In Tawi-Tawi, we held consultations with local civil society organizations and local religious and political leaders.
