JUNE 2022 SESSION

The Third Party Monitoring Team (TPMT) held its 36th monitoring session in the Philippines from 01 to 14 June 2022. During our two-week session, we were able to meet physically with various stakeholders of the GPH-MILF peace process, in Manila and in Mindanao.

In Manila, we were able to dialogue with the Peace Implementing Panels during their 32nd meeting. We met with members of the GPH Peace Implementing Panel led by Usec. David Diciano, and Malaysian Facilitator and/or Special Adviser Dato’ Kamaruddin bin Mustafa, on separate occasions.

We also met with political analysts Edmund Tayao and Michael Yusingco, Min. Naguib G. Sinarimbo of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG), MP Mussolini Lidasan, Georgi Engelbrecht of the International Crisis Group, members of the European Union (EU) Delegation, and Usec. Marilyn Pintor of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and Asec. Felix Castro Jr. of the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM). We also held an updating session with international peace partners on 14 June 2022.

In Cotabato, we met with Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, the MILF Peace Implementing Panel led by Mohagher Iqbal, members of the IDB, and members of the MILF CCCH and AHJAG. We also met with Min. Muslimin Sema of the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE), Min. Hussein Muñoz of the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS), IAG Executive Director Atty. Benedicto Bacani, Nonviolent Peaceforce Country Representative Dr. Ronnie Delsy, and Atty. Michael Mastura.

In Maguindanao, we met with the PNP PRO BAR Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA) PCol Pablo Labra II and BIAF-MILF 105th BC Commander Abdulhaq Ebrahim in Camp Omar. We also visited the JPPST Kitango station. In Lanao del Norte, we met with MP Abdullah Macapaar at Camp Bilal.
