The Third Party Monitoring Team (TPMT) held its 36th monitoring session in the Philippines from 02 to 15 March 2022. During our two-week session, we were able to meet physically with various stakeholders of the GPH-MILF peace process.
In Manila, we met with Secretary Carlito G. Galvez Jr., members of the GPH Peace Implementing Panel led by Usec. David Diciano, members of the ICG, former GPH Peace Negotiating Panel Chair Prof. Miriam Ferrer, and former TPMT member Dr. Steven Rood. We also met with the EU Delegation and participated in the virtual briefing with EU member-states.
In Cotabato, we met with the Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, members of the MILF Peace Implementing Panel Chair led by Mohagher Iqbal, chairs of the MILF CCCH and AHJAG, members of the IDB, and members of the IMT.
We also met with members of the BTA and the Bangsamoro Government (Majority Floor Leader MP Lanang Ali Jr., MP Baintan Ampatuan, and Min. Naguib Sinarimbo), IP leaders (MP Melanio Ulama, Comm. Archie Buaya, MP Romeo Saliga, and Froilyn Mendoza), and members of the League of Bangsamoro Organizations (LBO).
We visited Camp Rajamuda and met with Commander Jack Abas and decommissioned combatants in the area. In Midsayap, we also met with the administrator and cluster coordinators of the Special Geographic Area (SGA). In Lanao, we visited the Most-Affected Area (MAA) in Marawi and held consultations with Task Force Bangon Marawi and civil society stakeholders. We also met with MP Jannati Mimbantas and Sultan Abdul Hamidullah Atar.
